Mission


Teach students how to prioritize well-being and build healthy habits so they can thrive academically by hosting a peer-based community, curating innovative resources and teaching them how to meditate.

There are many barriers to academic success. Students are dealing with high levels of stress, anxiety and overwhelm from trying to balance school, work, family and more. The pandemic only increased this pressure. The truth is students need support when it comes to their well-being.

To do well in school, students need to learn how to take care of themselves - especially when it comes to their mental health and dealing with stress + anxiety. I will teach your students how to meditate which can help!

Building healthy habits, managing time and energy and making good choices - these are skills your students can learn. The Wellness Portal is a space to be in community + conversation around this important topic of truly thriving instead of barely surviving each semester.

It's about having a conversation on the important topic of mental health and well-being and how it translates to educational achievement, which has become even more relevant with challenges posed by COVID.

Greater well-being leads to greater academic success.

Hi, I’m Lynn.

Welcome! I've been working with low income, first generation and underrepresented college students in their journey to graduate school for nearly twenty years. Our students endure high levels of stress and anxiety trying to balance it all.

Teaching them how to prioritize and actualize their well-being is ESSENTIAL. Here’s the primary question we’re exploring … how do we DO WELLNESS on a daily basis? Like the actual practice of DOING?

We can intellectualize and TALK about how it’s good to move our bodies or take time to meditate, but the portal is really about helping ourselves and our students figure out the DOING part.

Through a unique structure of support and accountability - we explore TOGETHER.

As a certified meditation teacher through the Open Heart Project, teaching students how to meditate is my personal mission because I truly believe this daily practice can help build strength + resiliency needed to weather any challenge.

It begins with mindfulness and EXPANDS from there.
